Anointed The People's Park, Victoria Park is deservedly adored by East Londoners for its expansive greenness and social history. Though often bustling, there are tranquil spots to be found. The beautiful Village is adjacent, and perfect for browsing, picking up picnic supplies or for a leisurely lunch.
The Pavilion
If you’re looking for great coffee, a home made pastry (cardamom bun please), a quality breakfast or simply the best place to meet in the park, then heading to The Pavilion is the way to go.
Adjacent to the lake in the West side of Victoria Park, it’s a spot for a leisurely coffee and a catch up under a shady tree. Or, if you’re after something more substantial, take a table and order yourself of of their epic Sri Lankan breakfasts - the rest of the day will thank you for it.
The Deli Downstairs
In the heart of Victoria Park Village, and visible from the park itself, you can't miss the candy striped red and white awning of The Deli Downstairs. It is bursting with tins and jars of this and that, fresh cheeses and charcuterie and a daily menu of savouries and treats to take away, ideal for a picnic in the park.
